Remember that advert for O2 from some years ago? I would have a one to one with Ella Fitzgerald. Her recording career, which spanned more than 40 years, began in 1935 with the Chick Webb Orchestra, and the song which went, ‘A tisket, a tasket. / I lost my yellow basket.’ If I could ask her one question it would be this: "Ella, did you ever find your yellow basket?"
Worn out but elated – that’s how I felt as I hauled my bike onto the train at Chesham yesterday at 8pm. It was sunny the whole day long and my route to Oxford and back took me across the Chiltern Hills and through some of the most beautiful countryside in England. It was a heavenly way to spend the last day of May, roaming from early in the morning till sunset. This must be what heaven is like.
